Venezia’s Serie A return begins in Venice

This opening fixture will be a special occasion for Venezia FC. The club secured immediate promotion after a successful 2025/26 Serie B campaign, bringing top-flight football back to the Venetian lagoon. Their first challenge comes against Lecce, a team accustomed to demanding matches in Serie A.

Recent meetings between these sides have been closely contested. Lecce won 1–0 on their previous visit to the Penzo in November 2024, while the following league encounter in April 2025 finished 1–1. Venezia will now be looking to reverse that recent record and begin the new season with a positive result at home.

With points already important on the opening weekend, Venezia vs Lecce should offer an intense and competitive introduction to the 2026/27 Serie A season.
