Venezia and Napoli return to the Penzo

The previous Serie A meeting between Venezia and Napoli at Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo took place on March 16, 2025 and ended in a closely contested 0–0 draw.

Both teams created opportunities, but Venezia delivered a disciplined performance to prevent Napoli from finding a winning goal. Napoli’s match report described the encounter as evenly matched, with neither side able to break the deadlock.

That result demonstrated how difficult the Penzo can be for visiting teams. The compact stands keep supporters close to the pitch, while the home atmosphere can make matches against leading Serie A clubs particularly intense.

The 2026 encounter gives Venezia another opportunity to challenge Napoli in front of the Arancioneroverdi supporters, while the visitors will look to improve on their result from their last trip to the lagoon.

A major Serie A fixture in Venice

Napoli finished the 2025/26 Serie A season in second place, confirming their position among the strongest teams in Italian football. Their visit to Venice should therefore represent an important early-season test for Venezia.

For supporters visiting from outside Italy, Venezia vs Napoli offers the chance to combine a trip to Venice with a high-profile Serie A match. Unlike most stadium journeys, travelling to the Penzo can involve walking beside the lagoon or taking a vaporetto to Sant’Elena.

The stadium’s location gives the fixture a character that cannot be replicated at a conventional modern arena. Fans can explore central Venice before heading east towards the ground for the match.
